In this article, we’ll give you a rundown of some great ideas to get your no-code startup off the ground. Let’s go!
What is a No-Code Startup?
No-code development is pretty self-explanatory. In short, no code means creating tech products without writing code. In the past, there was no feasible way for startups to build powerful apps without hiring a development team and writing code.
No-code platforms changed this. These include:
- Bubble
- Webflow
- Appy Pie
- WordPress
- Squarespace
- Shopify
- and more!
With no-code platforms, you can easily build fully functional, responsive web apps or mobile applications using drag-and-drop builders. Bootstrapped startups and non-technical founders can build innovative tech products and features as they see fit.
Starting a tech company using a no-code platform helps you dramatically cut down on development costs. You can piece together your MVP by yourself or with a few developers.
Where no-code development gets difficult is when you need to expand your features and grow your product sustainably. Many reach the hurdle of expanding their MVP and get stuck.
In your growth phase, we recommend turning to an on-demand expert team to guide you through expanding your product. Why not get help from

Great No-Code Startup Ideas for your SaaS Business
We understand that many founders struggle to find ideas for their no-code startup. Here are some great ideas to spark your indie hacker imagination!
Launch a specialist job board
Our first startup idea is a job board. This is a website where employers post job listings to attract certain types of applicants. We don’t recommend launching a general job board - as sites like Indeed and Monster hold a firm grip on the market. Startups will struggle to attract enough employers to your platform.
How about targeting this specific pain point? Some employers find that the applications that they receive from the job board giants like Indeed aren’t the right type of candidate they’re looking for.
If they’re working in a specialist industry - such as engineering, design or sales - employers want to attract only those who have a keen passion and experience in the field.
The idea is simple: launch a job board for a specific industry. Or how about one for a specific job type (or benefit) - such as a board for remote jobs?
A great example of a specialist job board is
4 day week. They post job listings from companies that offer 32-hour week jobs. How have they been able to grow their business?
Content marketing
through blog posts and job listings. Then, they take a small fee from employers to post their job there.
A job board isn’t a particularly complex web application to develop.
Building with Bubblehas a great guide on how to build an Indeed clone. Want to use Webflow?

good video tutorial seriesto guide you through the process.
You can potentially speed this up by using a pre-made job board template.

Jobsy. There’s a very similar option called Boardly available in the
Bubblestore.
Start a freelance service marketplace
You can build many different kinds of marketplaces with no-code platforms. One of our favorite ideas is creating a freelance service marketplace along the lines of
Fiverrand
Upwork.
The requirements for such a marketplace aren’t too complex. You’ll need:
- A job/gig board with a way of searching for specific services
- A messaging service so that freelancers and discuss the project with prospective clients
- An order system with integrated payments - perhaps using a module likeStripe.
- A review/ratings system so that customers can find the best freelancers.
Quite evidently, you won’t find much success in creating a general freelance platform. This broad market will be too hard to capture, and competing with Fiverr and Upwork is incredibly difficult.
Instead, focus on a niche market or a local area.
Nanny Networkis a great example of this done well!
This site connects parents with accredited nannies in London. Nanny Network collects fees from nannies to post their job on the site - and for parents it's free to use.
An interesting feature here is a matching service. To save the hassle of scrolling through available nannies, parents can ask the platform to recommend one. Nanny Network will then choose an available nanny from their pool of “premium freelancers”.

Create an online course or e-learning platform
Have you got some expert knowledge to share with the world? An online course startup may be the perfect idea for you.
Want to get started in minutes? Ready-to-go platforms like
Gumroadand
Udemyare great ways to get going. Crafting your own site for your course in Bubble or Webflow is still the best way to control your user experience.
There are two opportunities here:
- You could make and publish your own courses. You’ll need to market your skills and expertise heavily to make this work.
- Or perhaps you could build an online course platform like Udemy for other creators to post their tutorials. Building with Bubble has agreat tutorial on how to create a Udemy clone.
What sorts of online courses could you run?
- Academic Courses:like Maths or Science videos - targeting students. A great example of this approach is Khan Academy - a non-profit providing maths, science and economics tutorials through their site and YouTube
- How to build a business/make money:This sector is lucrative as entrepreneurs are very willing to spend a few bucks on a course that may help them make far more in revenue.
- E-Learning Platform for Businesses:Most firms have to teach their employees about mundane topics like compliance, data protection and diversity & inclusion.
A particularly successful startup in this category is
MasterClass. They produce online courses from top celebrities like Gordon Ramsay, Samuel L. Jackson and Aaron Sorkin.
Then, they provide all their classes and sessions for a single monthly fee. And this model works! The company was last valued at
$2.75 billion, according to CNBC.
Sell your own products on an eCommerce site
The quintessential online business idea: why not launch an online store for your products? Platforms like Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, and Webflow make this process easy.
You could either:
- Sell physical products through delivery services and fulfillment centers. If you don’t have the infrastructure to handle this, why not try dropshipping?
- Sell your own digital products. This could be anything from music, digital art, e-books etc.
Shopify is the easiest way to get started selling your own products online. It offers you some great tools for listing products, running promotions, and handling payments.
The Shopify App Store lists some great plugins to customize your experience and add new functionality.
But if you want to deliver a more personalized omnichannel experience, you ought to build your site from scratch.
Webflow’s website builderincludes some great out-of-the-box modules for eCommerce.
Raylois a great example of a no-code online store done right. By building their site in Webflow, they were able to tailor their user experience and control their acquisition funnel.
Their products page in particular is well laid out into device categories, letting their customers easily find the phones or tablets they want to buy. Such granularity isn’t really possible in a ready-to-go eCommerce platform like Shopify.
Need some help launching your no-code startup?
There we have it! That was four great ideas for a great no-code startup. Platforms like Bubble that provide no-code app development are excellent for creating a new startup and laying the foundation for success.
However, as your startup grows and the list of features you need to add gets longer, it can be difficult to keep up.
When it comes to more complex app development, no-code builders can feel limited. Why not turn to the experts?
